WHY ?

Black Girl Dad Week celebrates the critical role that Black fathers play in fostering the academic and intellectual growth of Black girls. As active participants in their daughters’ education, Black fathers provide guidance, encouragement, and resources that empower Black girls to succeed academically and build confidence in their intellectual abilities. By showing consistent involvement in their daughters’ learning, Black fathers help bridge educational gaps and combat systemic inequities that often affect Black students.
